These are grade level/subject area staff agreements with regard to methodologies geared toward student learning. Essential agreements are not specific to a particular unit: rather, they are broad statements or guidelines teachers observe throughout the year. Each teacher agrees or “promises” to observe each Essential Agreement as a commitment in the design and delivery of instruction across that subject. In most cases, they are written in terms of what students will be “doing.”
