Curriculum is developed and reviewed at the Columbus School in the subject area committees. These committees are headed by the coordinators under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent. It is the expectation that all professional staff members contribute to curriculum development.

We have developed and aligned our standards and benchmarks for all subjects from Kinder 4 to Grade 12. Each committee defined the philosophy for the subject area and essential agreements concerning the methodology. We also developed a common unit planning format that incorporates the standards and benchmarks. Our curriculum maps give an overview of the curriculum for a particular subject and grade level.

Staff development is aligned to our school improvement plan. Additionally, a Master's Program in Multidisciplinary Studies from The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Buffalo is offered on our campus.

Our goal for our curriculum and staff development efforts is to impact student and staff learning at The Columbus School.
